Hotel Reviews

Hilton Tahiti

We stayed at the Hilton Tahiti in February 2024. This was our final night in Tahiti. Read more about our stay at the Hilton Moorea here, our stay at the Intercontinental Tahiti here, and continue reading below for our review of this property.

First Impressions & Check-In

After staying two nights on the island of Moorea, we took the ferry back to Tahiti. We had an early flight the next morning out of Tahiti, so we wanted to be close to the airport. This hotel is a 10 minute drive to the airport. The check-in process was quick and seamless. The parking was on-site and free.

The hotel lobby is spacious and open with a view of the pool below. There is a nice size sitting area and a bar adjacent to the main lobby.

Rooms & Accommodations

For this stay, we booked the two bedroom king bed ocean view suite. We were instantly impressed and wished that we had had more time to fully enjoy what truly was a small apartment. This suite is 1,238 sq. ft. of space including two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, living area, and a balcony. It felt so modern and 5-star.

Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, glasses, pans, pots, and all cooking utensils.

We were able to request a baby bed at this hotel, and the mattress was amazing. It was as thick as the mattress we use at home.

For our family, we absolutely love having the shared living space and the balcony to escape to after putting the baby to bed. The balcony provided a stunning view of the pool down below. We ate dinner at the table and listened to the music provided by the live band. This ended up being one of my favorite nights of our 2.5 week trip!

Experience

Our experience was great, and we truly would have loved more time. We were really impressed with the suite and what it provided. As soon as we got checked in, we dropped our belongings and headed straight to the pool since it was already late afternoon. We swam up to the swim-up bar and used our vouchers to order drinks. The wait staff was extremely overwhelmed and busy that evening. Our drinks ended up going to other customers and by the time we got our new drinks, we had to essentially chug them to get out of the pool and head up for dinner. I’m not sure if it is a Hilton-wide problem or just a coincidence, but we also experienced a shortage of staff and long wait times over at the Hilton Moorea (read our review here).

As much as we loved the suite, we did have an issue with the hot water not working. As we were only at the hotel for about 15 hours, many of us took a cold shower. The maintenance worker came over quickly to assess the problem. Unfortunately, it took him a few hours including the entire time we were having dinner to fix the problem. He was extremely apologetic. Of course this isn’t ideal, but these things do happen.

Food & Dining

This property has multiple restaurants, two bars, and room service. We were only at the hotel for 1 meal which was dinner. Because we had a full kitchen including an oven and a dishwasher, we wanted to “cook” a meal for dinner. What did we choose? Pizza, of course! Adjacent to the hotel is a supermarket called Carrefour Faaa. We learned the hard way that this grocery store is not only across the street from the hotel, but there is also a covered walkway connecting the two accessible via the elevators in both.

After we left the ferry, we went to a different Carrefour across town for a few items not knowing that there was one right across from where we would be staying. I digress. We sent one of our travelers to grab fresh pizza, salad, and wine from across the street. We utilized the balcony and fully enjoyed our evening with a view.

The Uncorked Truth

  1. I would love to come back and spend an entire day at the beautiful pool and swim-up bar.
  2. This hotel has a lot more to offer than we could experience in only 15 hours. They also have a spa and fitness center that would have been fun to try out.
  3. The suite was truly amazing for families. This would be a perfect place to work during the day and vacation at night. This hotel is on our repeat list!
