United Airlines 115: San Francisco (SFO) to Tahiti (PPT)
Date of Travel: February 2024
It is no secret that we are frequent travelers. We typically fly Delta or another SkyTeam Alliance partner. However, United offered the best route with service to Tahiti. We were very excited to try out the Polaris lounge and service onboard the aircraft, and neither one disappointed.
While we were in Tahiti, we stayed at 3 different properties. Check out our review of the InterContinental Tahiti, Hilton Moorea, and Hilton Tahiti if you need a place to stay! Continue reading for our review of United Airlines flight 115 with service to Tahiti from San Francisco.
United Polaris Lounge in San Francisco
We had about a two hour layover in SFO, so we headed straight to the lounge for some refreshments. Before settling down to eat yet another meal, we needed to change our baby. The Polaris Lounge had a great family room complete with a changing area, sink, and chair for feeding the baby. The room felt very clean and comfortable.
Next, we headed to the Dining Room for table service. There were also plenty of options at the buffet for those looking for a faster meal.
There was a wait for the Dining Room where we were quoted about a 20 minute wait. I gave my cell phone number, and we headed to the bar to grab drinks while we waited. As soon as we got our drinks, our table was ready! The service was very quick and professional.
They were no longer serving breakfast, so we each decided on our lunch entrees. The Polaris Signature Burger was absolutely delicious and a must try if you visit the lounge. The drinks were refreshing, and the dessert was delightful as well!
After we finished lunch, it was time to board the plane for the 8 hour flight.

On Board Seats & Setup
The aircraft used for this United Airlines 115 SFO to PPT was a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. We were seated in business class towards the back of the cabin. My husband and I sat next to each other and allowed our son to sit on the table between us. He thoroughly enjoyed the movable wall in between and loved watching it go up and down.
Our seats were set up with two pillows and two blankets. The blankets were Saks Fifth Avenue. The blankets were very comfortable, as was the entire setup. Once we settled in our seats, we opened the amenity kits.
Amenity Kits
We took a few minutes to unpack our amenity kit which was done in collaboration with Therabody. It was a crossbody bag with adjustable straps. This is definitely one of the nicer amenity kit bags that I’ve seen. This is a bag that I will use outside of the flight, and I actually saw someone using it in Tahiti. The kit had Therabody products including lip balm, hand cream, face mist, eye balm, and a cleansing towelette. The kit also included a dental kit, earplugs, eye mask, socks, pen, and soft tissues.

On Board Dining
The food in the sky is always one of the best parts of any flight! We try to preorder the entrees when we can to ensure we get what we want. This United Airlines 115 flight with service to Tahiti offered a full dinner service, snacks mid flight, and a savory meal before landing.
After takeoff, the flight attendants came around with the hot towel. Next, they came by with drinks and warm nuts before dinner. For dinner we had the sliced watermelon radish and seared beef short rib. The whipped lemon-ricotta was delicious. The beef short rib was a solid choice as well. It wasn’t the best food we’ve had in the sky, but it was good. After dinner, the flight attendants brought out dessert featuring the famous ice cream sundae. I absolutely recommend having ice cream on a plane!
Before landing we were served another hot meal. I had the grilled chicken with polenta and broccolini. The chicken was rubbery, but the sides were tasty.

Overall Experience
This was a great flight to Tahiti from San Fransisco offered by United Airlines 115 and an easy one to review. The 8 hours flew by very quickly. The flight attendants were very kind and attentive. United offers a wide variety of tv shows, movies, games, music, and more through their onboard entertainment. You can read more about their inflight options here. There was Wi-Fi available for purchase, but we stuck with the tv shows and movies. There was truly something for everyone as far as entertainment is concerned.
